Michael, I am still listening to your latest CD, weeks after you played The Ark. Love your songs, and it was an excellent show. I am glad I got to see you perform for real, it was refreshing and ... real. I hope to catch you on your next trip thru MI. Take care of bidness!

So it's like this.... I saw the first human set foot on the moon and I knew the world was a different place...a bigger place than it had been 5 minutes earlier....it's the same thing as that when you see Michael On Fire perform...the only difference between Michael on Fire and NASA is that while NASA stopped sending people into space and elected to send gadgets instead...Michael continued on and is now taking us to the farthest reaches of our inner and outer spaces and beyond...just wanted to point that out

Michael's performance at the Arc in Ann Arbor on July 26th was breath taking. I can't begin to describe the effect his music and lyrics have. Who would have thought that the grade school classmate would turn out to be this fantastic musician. HIs music will take you on a journey of love, sorrow, joy, hope and peace. We love you Michael, keep those songs coming, can't wait to see you again in Michigan.

I grew up in Ann Arbor and had never been to The Ark. I was walking by and was enticed in by a free concert. I had hope to go to The Art the next evening, to see Marc Cohen, but it was sold out. Well, I was not disappointed. Michael On Fire touches a cord that stirs my soul. Will be in Utah for the winter and much catch up with him in Park City... and I promised him we would go Heli Skiing.
See ya this winter... richardcaldwell.com

Michael yor performancwe at the Arc in Ann Arbon on July 26th was breath taking. Your musical talent is beyond words and your songs are straight from the heart. Your words took me to places that I thought were long forgotten, you took away my fears and reminded me that all the trials and tribulations in my life were just a test of my strenght to survive and to remind myself that I was and still am a fighter. As I sit at my desk at work right now I'm listening to your CD's and smiling because your words are in my heart and I have a new outlook on life. Seeing you perform last night was worth the hour I lost driving in circles trying to find the "Arc" last night. I'll be following your tour dates and can't wait to see you again the next time you're in Michigan. All the best to you. Your long time classmate from St. Gerards.

michael, i write lyrics, now i am a fan of yours. here's what i wrote many friends this morning after your show last night:

quite the surprise walking into michael on fire. it was like stepping into the detroit jazz fest. michael could not wait to get his talented sideman into guitar solos, sax solos, base solos, easy when you have such talent

to hilight the jazz content, go to the music bar at the top of his website, click play, then advance by clicking play to #4, violet skies, then, for saxaphone (looked like a big clarinet) solo #5 silence (sounds like birds flying around), then #7, apache wind, #9 breathing of the sun

last night the ark was a special place, take a chance tuesday, all for the price of a can of soup donation to the food gatherers

love, bob

so, michael, great show, thanks!

I was at the live room in London on Sunday night. I am still reeling from it (please excuse the pun, I couldn't resist.) I have never seen a performance like that there. Never seen people just sitting on the dance floor listening..
I find it difficult to believe that was an unrehearsed performance. How did you ever decide to put such disparate elements together? One would never imagine that singers from the West End, traditional players from Ireland and Michael on Fire would ever gel. But there was real magic happening there on that stage. I read the review in Maverick and came expecting to see a folk singer. I have looked at the some of the youtube stuff and this was totally different. I loved it. Thank you. Are you anticipating further London dates? I will watch the website in anticipation.

You know it's funny, I stumbled across Michael by accident, it was a Sunday evening. I had a few options for things to do that night, but I decided to go to the Live Rooms, Palmer's Green. I arrived at the venue expecting a pretty mediocre night as it was a Sunday. Then Michael got up on stage, Michael actually won me over from the moment he opened his mouth, He is one of the most brilliantly Charismatic guys I've ever met, his stories between songs are just side splittingly hilarious and he creates arena like atmosphere just from his brilliant connection with the audience. He is the type of songwriter that I've always admired. Michael has this fantastic Springsteen like quality to his music in the sense that you get lost in his words, mentally transported and his voice perfectly melts together with the tone of the song. Michael you've done the U.S, Now it's time to do the U.K!

Found the Video on you tube....wow...I'm not judging but back in my memorie of hearing it there was a smell of pot in the air...tie die t's, and a man with long hair and a beautiful hippie voice singing "peace be with you"....again not judging..but too good of a song for rushed guitar and a kid wearing a cut off black t-shirt....The song is better than that ....I know it well...hasn't left my head since 1992ish,,,,,,

Michael, I just got done playing these new cuts several times in a row. I have to say - Righteous Man is my new anthem - and it is anthemic! The playing with Ced is incredible. Thanks again brother for dropping just the right healing concoction at just the right time :) Many Blessings to you and I'll be excited to see you and hang with you in Traverse City this summer. Much Love, Borge

Just saw Michael tonight (well...officially last night) at Swing the Teapot in Floral Park. It was my very first time hearing him and his music. I want to follow this man and his career. He is gracious, generous, extremely hard working and he thanks his audience often when it is us who should be thanking him!!!
Thank you, Michael. I hope to meet you again. Drink plenty of water, please and may you always have a soft place to lay your head.

Michael - The power and the presence of your personal experience and awareness transformed the room Saturday night. The pain is clear, but so is an unshakable sense of hope. You make human pain beautiful. There is a powerful sense of all that may be right in the world in your music.

Thank you for showing what comes of living and creating with absolute integrity, intent, authenticity, and clarity. And bless you for sharing your strength, power and love with those of us who were deeply fortunate to be in the room while you created music.

You make the world a better place by doing what you do.

Michael- Cleaning out my basement and ran into the name Prismatic. What a blast from the past! Saw you at the Birmingham Theater in the 70's, met you, personally, via Nadine Maynard, maybe. or on my own. The memory is cloudy...thought you all were great. Googled you-you seem to have done well...Best Wishes, Susan

I'm so glad the internet makes it possible to see you perform and hear your music again. It takes me back to The Trap at Targhee. It was always good times when you boys came to play. I'll always be a fan, and proud to be able to say I know you.

I miss and love you my friend, let's do "Tales" together in 2013 (or before).
I still think some boy-band choreography would be awesome in your one-man show, but that's just me thinking out loud.
Still, the universe is calling us and I lost my cell phone.

Michael my dear friend. I have missed you. Living in a small town northeast of Denver wishing there could be another human on the planet (in this town of course), with the musical vision of all life and ability to uplift souls. Still looking, until then, I wait for you to come back to Colorado some day. Hope you are well.

Amazing what can be done with a U87, a B16, some tequila and a will to work late into the night at hodencamp. Something about a Comanche moon....

Hope everyone is well, and to all a fond hello.

The gigs that touched so many hearts for so many years are what prove Buddha's first statement after attaining Enlightenment. "The meaning of life is to suffer." The suffering becomes joy once it has created wisdom, translated into beautiful lyrics and music, that touch the hearts of both you that heard and us that played. We were all touched and will forever remember all of you. Thank you for being a part of all of our dreams. Love to all, Tobias

I met Michael in the winter of 1991 when my band, The Bead Band moved to Van Nuys, CA.
From the moment I shook his hand until this very moment, no one has had a more direct influence on the journey of my life than Michael. I learned more by playing music with him than a 100 lifetimes could teach me.
As my dear friend or teacher, he has taught me how live my life through my music, which is all of our music. God Bless you Miguel.

Now, Sack me Kack!

I saw Michael on Fire one evening in 1993 the year I began college- I hung onto a copy of one of his albums, got to like it, and then lost it. It's a tribute to the quality of that music that after 10 years, I occasionally would do word searches to see if he had a website. I'd be delighted to see him again, and hope he comes near Boulder, CO soon.

Just thought you'd be interested to know that there is a Michael On Fire flame burning all the way over here in Australia. We love MOF in our house. We did a national tour last year, 3 months driving all over the country, most of the time with Michael on Fire in the CD player. Especially love the Live at Tales from the Tavern CD. Good on you, Michael, the world needs your spirit right now!!

June 13, 2006

Funny thing, the Internet.I googled you and here you are.Saw you in '91 or so in a club in Tempe, AZ. Along with your uncle Ralph Colone. Those bags of cans came in handy, huh? Your drummer didn't use sticks, still the same? Ralph forgot his inhaler and some cute chick with really long hair lent him her's. You guys switched to the blues and played a great set. Later, at Marsha's house everyone was well fed. Why am I telling you this? I guess if you can live on in somebody's memory maybe you have accomplished something. The years fly, but I wish you well, and all the streams run to the sea. Take care of yourself and the very best to you in the future.Or in a lighter Irish moment, "May the wind at your back be yours!"
God Bless.
